About Pulso

Discover Pulso

Pulso Technology is a spin-off from the University of Mons and Université libre de Bruxelles, built on extensive expertise in fluid mechanics and cardiovascular simulation. Today, Pulso develops highly realistic in vitro solutions to accelerate vascular and structural heart device development, testing, and procedural training.

A flexible, innovative and highly adaptive team working towards clients satisfaction.

Mission

A faster, more reliable and cost-effective path towards performant breakthrough medical devices.

Advancing medical devices through precision testing

1

INNOVATION

We push boundaries to deliver smarter and better solutions.

2

QUALITY

We uphold the highest standards in every test and result.

3

COLLABORATION

We grow stronger together with our partners and clients.

Exceptional experiences to enhance patient care

Pulso’s anatomical flow models help evaluate the hemodynamic impact of vascular devices. The underlying patented pulse pump technology enables the reproduction of any type of physiological flow, thereby mimicking the diastolic and systolic phases of the cardiac cycle.

Moreover, the team’s know-how in silicone models enables the development of a wide range of anatomical replicas that can be used not only for R&D activities, but also for marketing and training purposes.

Our Journey

Highlighting our history, showcase growth and key milestones.

2013

THE IDEA

Pulso originated from the doctoral research of Kamil Chodzynski at the University of Mons, supported by Professors Karim Zouaoui from ULB and Grégory Coussement from UMons. After four years of research and development, their work resulted in a patented technology capable of reproducing a wide range of physiological pulsatile signals.

Following several initial projects, Marco Testaguzza identified the technology’s potential to improve the development, testing, and training associated with cardiovascular medical devices. This vision led to the creation of Pulso Technology.

2018

FROM RESEARCH TO COMPANY

Supported by private investors, regional funding organisations, and innovation programmes, Pulso progressively transformed the original academic technology into a commercial platform. This funding enabled the company to further develop its products, strengthen its team, and validate its solutions through collaborations with medical device companies, hospitals, and research centres.

2025

PULSO TECHNOLOGY

Four generations of technology later, Pulso Technology develops customized in vitro cardiovascular simulation solutions for medical device companies, clinicians, and research institutions.

Under the leadership of Marco Testaguzza, the company combines pulsatile flow systems, realistic anatomical models, and tailored bench testing services to reproduce specific physiological and pathological conditions. Pulso’s ambition is to make cardiovascular device development faster, more reliable, and more ethical by reducing dependence on animal testing.
